FAQs about PTA

1.     Will I have to attend meetings if I join the PTA?

Absolutely not!  You are always welcome to attend our monthly PTA General meetings but attendance is absolutely not required.

2.     Do I have to volunteer my time if I join the PTA?

Absolutely not!  While we always appreciate any help you can give us by volunteering, joining PTA does not mean you are on our volunteer list at all!

3.     Does my child get anything out of my joining the PTA?

Definitely!  By joining the Parkway PTA, you are helping support many wonderful programs that your child truly enjoys and makes his/her time at Parkway Elementary a wonderful and memorable experience. A portion of your membership dues, go directly into our PTA funds.  These funds are used by PTA to/for:
·        Provide School Buses for field trips
·          Back to School Events
·          Fall & Spring Book Fair
·          Holiday Shop
·          Turkey Trot
·          Movie Nights
·        School Assemblies & Programs
·          Holiday & Valentine’s Day class party funds
·          Teacher Appreciation
·          End-of-Year Party
·          Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)

And that is just a sample.  All these programs matter very much to your child (just ask them!)

4.     What do I get out of PTA?

You are supporting programs and events that enrich your child’s time at Parkway Elementary.  We make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
